Two drug peddlers put behind bars

LAKHIMPUR, May 9: North Lakhimpur Police sent two drug peddlers to jail on Tuesday. Following information, police from North Lakhimpur Police Station nabbed the two drug peddlers from Sukulibhoria Tiniali on Monday night. They were identified as Biju Ahmed, son of Samsuddin Ahmed of Sukulibhoria Tiniali and Anar Majumder (27), son of Ali Majumder of Bantow Gaon in North Lakhimpur town. Police seized 1,200 narcotic tablets from the drug peddlers who were carrying these to sell in Lakhimpur from Arunachal Pradesh.
“We have found some crucial clues from the two culprits about drug peddling. We are initiating effective plan to take stern action against the drug peddlers in the district and those who are involved with the inter-State drug peddling racket,” stated Ghana Kanta Bhuyan, the OC of North Lakhimpur Police Station.
