Two fake gold dealers apprehended

DHEKIAJULI, Dec 21: Dhekiajuli Police has arrested two fake gold dealers from Borsola and No. 3 Kachari Bheti area of Pauripota under Orang Police Station. The duo were identified as Nijam Uddin (25) and Ajim Uddin (23). The two fake gold dealers were arrested on the basis of an FIR lodged at the Dhekiajuli Police Station by two victims from Dhemaji, Dulumoni Borah and Mineswar Gogoi. The victims were contacted by the fake gold dealers over phone, luring the victims by claiming that they had found some gold items on digging soil and wanted to sell them in a very low cost.

The fake gold dealers requested the victims to deal with them at some undisclosed places of Orang under Udalguri district. On the basis of the deal, one Dulumoni Borah paid Rs 2 lakh to the fake gold dealers and received the fake gold from them. Later, on verification Dulumoni Borah found the gold to be fake. In the same style, Mineswar Gogoi also paid Rs 8 lakh to get the gold. But after receiving the money from Dulumoni Borah, the two fake gold dealers escaped from the scene.

Later, both the victims lodged an FIR in Orang Police Station. The Orang Police registered a case vide caseĀ  registration no. 1152/17 under 420/406/506. The Orang Police, after a search operation, bbed the accused and sent them to the district jail. Both the accused are brothers.
