Two go missing after boat mishap

DEMOW, April 16:  On Saturday morning a boat mishap took place in Demow River in which two persons went missing. According to sources, Simonto Gogoi, a resident of Dehajan Aaithan and his younger brother-in-law, Sachin Das, a resident of Barbarua near Dibrugarh were crossing the Demow River in a boat in the morning to attend a Bihu celebration in their relative’s house at Raichai. The boat capsized and while the boat man Madhab Das maged to survive the accident, Simonto Gogoi and Sachin Das drowned in river. A team of Nitaiphukhuri Police along with officers of Moran Police Station reached the spot. The NDRF team also reached the spot and started searching for the two missing persons. Till the filing of this report, both of them had not been found.
