Two held for human trafficking, seven minors rescued

Rangia, Nov 25: Rangia police rescued four boys and three girls from a house in Dolegaon under Rangia PS in Kamrup district on Wednesday. Two persons were held on charge of alleged trafficking of the minors. Rangia police lead by Bhaskar Patowary, TSI, rescued them from the traffickers acting on a tip-off. According to police sources, one Amal Ch Baro  of Dolegaon and Kailash Kalita of Tatarkuchi had kept the children in their custody illegally. After being informed, police rescued them and arrested both the traffickers. The minors are from Bindukuri (Tezpore) and Rangapara under Sonitpur district. Police is interrogating them in Rangia police station for further information. The traffickers were planning to take the minors to Cheni for engaging them in some fish business, as confessed by them.  Police informed the guardians of the children and produced the traffickers before the SDJM court.
