Police sources said another person, however, maged to give the police a slip. The petrol bomb hurled at the residents did not explode and there was no damage to property. The police informed during the time of the incident the occupants of the house were not present. Speaking to ‘The Sentinel’, East Khasi Hills SP Davis N Marak informed that the two persons arrested today from Mawlai, are members of the Khasi Students’ Union (KSU).  Marak said, “As per our intelligence input they were directly in the last light’s incident.” “We will interrogate and find out who are the other persons involved in the incident so that we can take action against those people as well,” he added. Stating that the persons involved in the incident had tried to go into hiding, Marak said, “We received intelligence input that they were trying to run away in a vehicle; however we maged to intercept the vehicle in Mawlai.” Marak said the third person who maged to escape is believed to be a member of the KSU and is also one of the main culprits of the case.
