Two held with counterfeit currency notes

MANGALDAI, Feb 18: The Darrang Police have made another successful operation to b two notorious gang members of a counterfeit currency note racket and recovered a number of counterfeit Indian currency notes and some objectioble materials from their possession. According to information, police personnel of Sipajhar Police Station on Saturday night intercepted an Maruti Alto car (AS 25 E 6163) coming from Dumunichowki towards Mangaldai and interrogated Lambodar Phukan and Chandan Viswakarma, both of village Balipara-Chanmari under Rangapara Police station in Sonitpur district.

 Both the accused led the police to the recovery of a number of counterfeit currencies, old currency notes and black large sheets which may have been used for printing counterfeit currency notes from the house of Nurul Hussain of village Singimari under Sipajhar Police Station in Darrang district. Accused Nurul Hussain has since been absconding.
