Two held with fake currency notes

Lakhimpur, Nov 18: Just one week after the issuance of Rs 2000 currency notes, two persons were arrested with fake currency notes by Simaluguri police in Lakhimpur district today. The persons were identified as Sumi Pal and Bharat Kataki of Simaluguri area. A total of Rs 62,000 was recovered from the possession of the woman.”The woman, Sumi Pal, came to a ATM booth in Simaluguri area for exchange of notes and a man, Bharat Kataki who offered her an exchange of her notes and gave her fake notes. Fake notes amounting to Rs 62000 were recovered from the woman. Both the persons have been taken into custody for further investigation,” a police official said.
