Two-hour AJYCP hunger strike at Pathsala

PATHSALA, September 4: Asom Jatiyabadi Yuba Chatra Parishad (AJYCP) observed hunger strike on Sunday at Pathsala as per AJYCP’s resolution to stage two-hour sit-in hunger strike throughout the State from January 1, 2016 to December 31, 2016.

Their demand is to provide complete autonomy to Assam, dual citizenship and inner line permit for non-indigenous people of the state. Today was the 248th day of the 366-day resolution.

Led by joint secretary of Bajali district, Kangkan Talukdar, the hunger strike was observed in Pathsala from 10 am to 12 pm.  In the protest, Lakhyeshwar Das and former general secretary of Bajali College, Surojit Choudhury along with Pijush Das, Bhaskar Talukdar, Phani Das, Jahidul Ali, Prince Talukdar and many others were present.
