Two houses gutted

JORHAT, Aug 11: At least two houses were gutted and several people hurt while trying to douse the fire in two semi Assam-type houses near Pujadubi area beside the Bhogdoi River under Jorhat Police station on Wednesday night, said SDRF here on Thursday. Both the houses turned into ashes. Due to the dilapidated road, the fire tenders could not reach on time to douse the flames. Many people of the area were hurt in the clash with SDRF and police for late arrival of the fire tenders. Property worth over Rs 3 lakh to Rs 4 lakh was destroyed in the fire.
