Two injured in oil pipeline blast

JOYSAGAR, Sept 24:  A blast in an oil pipeline of ONGC took place on Friday at Simaluguri area under Bokota oil field. As per information, there was a blast in one of the heavy pressure oil and tural gas pipelines when all the workers were busy in drilling work near the pipeline. In this accident two field workers of ONGCL were injured  seriously and they were admitted in ONGCL Sivasagar Hospital immediately. Among the two workers, one Padum Chetia received major burn injuries and was sent to Assam Medical College and Hospital at night for better treatment. ONGCL Engineering Maintence Department sources revealed that high pressure inside the pipeline lead to the blast. ONGCL Engineering Maintence Department is busy in repairing the pipeline. The gas flowing treatment has temporarily stopped through the pipeline, sources said.
