Two injured in separate road accidents

SHILLONG, Dec 17: Two persons were injured in separate cases of accidents in the State.

In the first incident, a truck driver K Saikia (55) sustained injuries when the vehicle was involved in a collision with another truck coming from the opposite direction, while he was trying to overtake. The collision took place at Riat Turim under Thandlaskein Block, West Jaintia Hills District on Saturday afternoon. The injured was shifted to Jowai Civil Hospital.

In another accident, heading back towards Shillong after a sightseeing trip, a motorist fell off his motorbike (AS01BN – 7978) and sustained injuries when a Mahindra Bolero (ML05H – 9586) collide with the motorbike on a turning.

The incident occurred near the Sa-I-Mika junction in Sohra under Shella Block, East Khasi Hills District on Saturday at around 4:07 pm.

The - motorist, Avish Prasad (22) was shifted to Sohra CHC and then he was later referred to Shillong Civil Hospital.
