Two IT officials in CBI custody

GUWAHATI, April 17: The CBI Special Court, Guwahati sent four accused, including two Income Tax officials, to the CBI custody for three days on Tuesday. Income Commissioner (audit) Swetabh Suman and Income Tax officer (audit) Pratap Das were arrested on the charge of taking bribes from a tax evader along with Pranjal Sarma, one who brought the money, and advocate-cum-IT practitioner Ramesh Goenka. While the IT Commissioner was arrested on April 12, the other three were arrested on April 13. The CBI sought permission from the court for the analysis of voice samples of the accused. The court is to take a decision on this on April 20, 2018 when the case will be heard again.
