Two killed in gaon road mishaps

GAON (HAIBORGAON), June 6: Two separate road accident took place on the outskirts of gaon town on Monday. Two persons, including a woman, died on the spot while a student sustained serious injury in one accident that took place at Dimaruguri area and the other took place at Birah Bebejia area.

According to sources, on Monday the first accident took place at Dimaruguri around 6 am in which a speeding truck (AS02C- 6721) from Uriagaon bypass road to gaon town hit a woman who died on the spot. The woman has been identified as Swap Saikia of Dimaruguri Amtal area. On the other hand, the other accident took place at Bihar Bebejia area around 4.30 pm when a police escort vehicle from Raha to gaon town (AS30-7629) hit a motor cycle (ASON- 6379). A student died on the spot and another student sustained severe injury. Soon after the incident, some local people of Bebejia area came out and tried to vandalize and also blocked the old AT road for hours. But the higher officials of gaon police immediately rushed to the spot and were able to bring the situation under control. The police later picked Suren Rajkhuwa, who was the driver of the police escort vehicle.
