Two killed in road accident at Changsari

BAIHATA CHARIALI, March 26: Two persons died on the spot in a road accident at Changsari on NH-31 on Saturday night. The accident took place when a river earth (sand) carrying speeding dumper without registration number hit at a truck which was parked on the highway.  In the accident, two other vehicles were also damaged as the dumper hit them. Police have identified the deceased as Amzad Ali (28), son of Jehirul Ali, and Lal Chand Ali (20), son of Nuruddin Ali of Barpeta , driver and helper in the dumper respectively. The owner of the dumper is Raju Ali of Puthimari under Rangiya PS. The public of the area alleged that a number of dumpers without registration  number  have been raging havoc in the area with running high speed almost all time and police or administration has done nothing to check them.  On the other hand, the public also alleged that a number of river earth-carrying dumpers have been doing illegal cutting and carrying of river earth in the night without proper challan for which the government was losing out on revenue.
