Two killed in road mishap

SHILLONG, Feb 1: Two persons died in separate accidents cases police said. In the first accident case on January 31 at around 8:45 pm, one vehicle (number not known) knocked down one unidentified male person at MES Demseiniong, Shillong. The victim was rushed to Shillong Civil Hospital where the attending doctors declared him brought dead. In the second incident, on Saturday at around 10:30 pm, one Maruti car (ML-05C-1217) driven by Larisandor Nongrum (27) fell into a gorge at Laitmawiong, Laitlyngkot, East Khasi Hills district. As a result, the driver died on the spot while three occupants sustained injuries and were shifted to Civil Hospital Shillong. Meanwhile, in another incident on January 31, one Jeep (ML-05-4573) driven by Pullstar Khongsit (38) fell into a gorge at Laitlyngkot in East Khasi Hills, as a result, the driver and four occupants including one seven year old girl, sustained injuries.
