Tamulpur, March 7: Based on specific information from army intelligence unit, troops of Indian Army and Baksa Police in a joint operation apprehended two NDFB (S) locally trained cadres and recovered two AK-47 rifles along with two live rounds on Wednesday. Ashok Ramchiary (29), son of Sohit Ramchiary, and Sombharu Basumatary, son of Raneswar Basumatary, were apprehended from Katligaon and Ambari village of Baksa district on Wednesday.
The detailed search of the house of Ashok Ramchiary led to the recovery of two AK-47 rifles and two live rounds. Apart from being an over ground worker of NDFB (S), the individuals are suspected to be involved in extortion and kidpping in BTAD. The apprehended individuals have been detained in the Mochalpur police station to ascertain their further involvement in various other nefarious activities.
