Two poachers arrested with leopard skin at Tamulpur

TAMULPUR, Sept 24: Tamulpur police last night  arrested two members of a wildlife poaching gang at Kaurbaha under Tamulpur police station in Baksa district. The police also recovered a skin of leopard from them. A team of police led by Tamulpur Sub Divisiol Police Officer (SDPO) Asif Ahmed bbed the two poachers when they came to Kaurbaha to sell the leopard skin at Rs 3 lakh. The arrested poachers were identified as Gopal Singh Gaur, 43, of Bhergaon under Paneri police station in Udalguri district and Beduin Brahma,30, of Jabaratpar village  of okata in Baksa district. SDPO Asif Ahmed told reporters that they were involved with wildlife including tiger-skin smuggling for long time along Indo-Bhutan border in Baksa district. A case was filed in this connection.
