Two popular Bihu teams gear up to perform across the State

GOHPUR, April 13:  Bihu teams across the State are busy practicing for Rongali Bihu mela and sanmilan. Two popular bihu teams of Gohpur are getting ready to give an unbeatable performance in Bihu competitions.

Panchajanya Bihu team and Jonbai Bihu team of Gohpur have been flooded with invitations to perform in various parts of the State. Panchajanya team chief Nilotpal Borah and team mager Mash Saikia updated team list of 2017. Sankar Jyoti Borah, Apurba Das, Bhaskar Bhuyan, Nilotpal Bhuyan, Nilotpal Saikia, Mash Saikia, Sourabh Das, Jardon Borah, Triyan Saikia, Kangkan Borah, Samiran Jyoti Sarma, Muruli Gogoi in dhol, Pranjal Hazarika in pepa, Hemanta Mahanta, Tulyajit Borah in taal along with Bihua Champak Duwarah, Ritupan Dutta, Joy Ghosh, Biplab Gohain, Mridul Das, Mril Das and Biki Saikia and Bihuwoti Prayashi Hazarika, Lucky Baruah, Dimpi Borah, Moni Kangka Gogoi, Taya Borah, Rima Borah, Junmoni Tamuli, Karishma Borah, Roseli Borah, Nirmali Saikia, Anindita Borah Nishita Saikia, Puspanjali Kutum, Boby Borah and Sumitra Saikia will perform group Bihu dance in this season.

On the other hand, the Jonbai Bihu team of Gohpur is getting ready as well for performing in various places of Assam. Jonbai Bihu team was set up in 1996 with the help of local people. Team chief of Jonbai Bihu team, Pintu Gogoi and Mridul Lahan updated the team list for this season. Mridul Lahan, Pintu Gogoi, Dipak Gogoi, Aison Borah, Ujjal Bhuyan, bajyoti Gogoi, Bandit Das in dhol, Mondip Baruah and Aison Borah in pepa, Gopal Gogoi, Biswajit Saikia, Sanu Nipam Talukdar, Sunukan Gogoi in taal along with Bihua – Bihuwoti Jitu Baruah, Kamal Borah, Dipu Saikia, Dipu Bhuyan, Isha Sarma, Rashmi Rekha Saikia, Pritrish Borkataky, Rimpi Saikia, Shibani Gogoi, Puja Saikia, Nikumoni Gogoi and Karishma Doley will perform group Bihu dance in this festive season.
