Two rhino poachers bbed in Dimapur

GAON, June 20: Jakhalabandha police led by SP Arabinda Kalita apprehended two wanted intertiol rhino poachers and rhino horn peddlers on Friday in Dimapur.

gaon police sources said that  the police had a specific intelligent input and on basis of that input police along with Assam Police task force, launched an operation in Dimapur tun Bazar of galand and were able to b the two wanted poachers and peddlers in the area. They have been identified as Richop Karke Chettry of Dimapur tun Bazar and Membangar Jhara Mizu of Mizuram.

According to the sources, both the poachers along with a gang were involved in rhino poaching in Kaziranga tio Park over the years and killed many wild rhinos in the park. They were also involved in selling two rhino horns recently. They sold one horn at Rs 36 lakh and the other at only Rs 3 lakh, the sources added. The police are searching for the rest of the gang.

On the other hand, police of Rupahi police station led by ASP(HQ) Hitesh Roy bbed two dacoits from greater gaon town in connection with a recent robbery case in the area of Gatanga, on the outskirts of gaon town. They have been identified as Dhiren th of Haiborgaon area and Arubh Kor of Panigaon.
