Shillong, Jan 19: Two people sustained injury in an accident that occurred around 7.00 am on Friday morning. The accident took place in Shillong bypass at Umeit in Ri Bhoi district when a hay-loaded truck collided head on with another truck that was coming from the opposite direction. Kwel Hinge (21) and Manbha Sa (23) sustained severe injuries, and both of them were shifted to Shillong Civil Hospital. In another road accident, a Maruti van was hit by a truck at Jyntru in Ri Bhoi district. This accident occurred around 7.40 am on Sunday morning when the Maruti van, which was on its way to Shillong from Nongpoh, was hit by an over speeding truck that was coming from behind. In this incident, June Mary Kharmawplang (51) sustained injuries.
