Two Silapathar College students receive scholarship

Dhemaji, October 24: Makhan Chetia Foundation has offered scholarship to two science students of Silapathar Science College for the year 2016. The scholarship is given to poor and brilliant students every year.

Dr Satyath Chetia, who was the legal adviser of former Chief Minister Hiteswar Saikia, started giving scholarship to poor and meritorious students in the me of his deceased wife’s Makhan Chetia Foundation. This time two science students of Silapathar Science College, Ranjit Bharali and Sumpi Borah of the Chemistry department received this scholarship.

Dr Satyath Chetia came to the college and handed over the scholarship of Rs 4,000, some books, a citation, a diary and a pen during a meeting held in the college, which was presided over by Dr Ranjit Saikia, Principal of Silapathar Science College. The meeting was initiated by Jonti Sonowal.

Pradip Gogoi, who is associated with Makhan Chetia Foundation, spoke about the dymic persolity of Makhan Chetia.
