Two suspected HPC(P) cadres arrested

Silchar, May 7: Two suspected Hmar People’s Convention, HPC (P) cadres Bo Hmar (35) and Isrel Hmar (36) have been arrested by Assam Rifles personnel last Saturday at 8 am from Lakhipur Ferryghat while they were crossing Barak River on a bamboo boat. However, no arms or ammunitions have been found with them. They have been handed over to Lakhipur Police Station at 9 am from where they were sent to Sub Divisiol Magistrate Court. Both Bo Hmar, a resident of Morchakhal under Jirighat PS and Isrel Hmar, a resident of Parbung PS under Pherzawl district in Manipur, have been kept in remand for 5 days. Lakhipur SDPO Gaurav Kumar Aggarwal, who is also the investigation officer of the case has been aptly helped and assisted by investigation officer P L Bongpui.
