Two suspected Kuki militants killed

Imphal, January 29: Two suspected Kuki militants were killed and three others were injured in a gun battle between 8 Assam Rifles and the militants at Kadangband in Imphal.  The encounter took place on Wednesday evening at around 7.30 p.m that lasted for ten minutes.  The three injured persons have been identified as Helen Kuki (30), Satmamang Kuki (23) and Thangkholin Kuki (25).  All the three injured suspected KNF cadres are undergoing treatment at the Regiol Institute of Medical Sciences, informed a source.  As per reports, troop of 8 Assam Rifle who were patrolling the area on foot were attacked by the suspected KNF militants who came in a Bolero jeep when the patrol party reached Kadangband Bridge.
