Two toppers bring glory to gaon

gaon, June 2: Two toppers in the HSLC exam, 2015 have brought glory to gaon. Kumar Ratdeep of gaon Mission School bagged the eight position while Partha Pratim th of gaon Jatiya Vidyalaya bagged the 10th position.

Eighth position holder Kumar Ratdeep got 579 total marks and letter marks in all subjects. His father RP Powel is a lecturer in Nowgong College. Ratdeep is a resident of Jakhalabandha Road, Amulapatty. He aims to be a doctor. He used to study 8-10 hours every day and his hobbies include listening to music and drawing. He expressed his gratitude to his teachers and his parents for his success.

Partha Pratim th, who bagged the 10th position, resides temporarily at Ratpur, Panigaon with his mother Biva Debi, who is a teacher by profession. His father, who was also a teacher, has passed away. Partha would like to pursue his higher education in gaon. His elder brother Ashim Kumar th had bagged the ninth position in the HSLC exam, 2014.

This year 26,436 students appeared in the HSLC exam from gaon and 15,662 of them passed. The pass percentage is 59.24 per cent. A total of 3,688 students got first division, 6,457 students got second division and 5,517 got third division. The result this year is not satisfactory as compared to the previous years when the pass percentage was 60.44 per cent.
