Two tortoises recovered

KHERONI, November 18: Kheroni forest officials rescued two large tortoises from Kalighat at Kheroni in West Karbi Anglong on Wednesday. The team noticed a suspicious boat in the Kapili river during routine patrolling.  When the forest team approached the boat, the boat-keeper and other assistants fled.  The officials then rescued two large tortoises from that boat. The weight of one tortoise is around 30 kg and another around 10kg, said the officials.
