Two traffic policemen awarded

SHILLONG, April 5: Recognizing the hard work put in by the Traffic Police in the city, the Smart Charitable Trust (SCT) on Wednesday awarded two police belonging to the traffic department with the “Best Shillong Traffic Policeman Award” for the year 2016-2017.

The two traffic police receiving the awards include Women Police Head Constable Sabitri Rabha of Laitumkhrah Traffic Branch and Head Constable Chandradhar Basumatry of Madanriting Traffic Branch. A Certificate of Appreciation, a Momento was given to each.

The aim of the trust is to award common people who have contributed to the well being of Society.

The trust was initiated and conceptualized by Prashan ik, Retd. IAS. Ex  Addl. Chief Secretary, Government of Meghalaya and other dignitaries. Davis N R. Marak SP East Khasi Hills District said, “The award has encouraged the Police Personnel of Shillong Traffic Police to put in more effort.”
