Two, Upasha Mudoi and Achyut Kumar Chetia are from Golaghat Jatiya Vidyalaya among HSLC rank holders

GOLAGHAT: Upasha Mudoi and Achyut Kumar Chetia brought laurels to Golaghat district by securing 5th and 10th position in the HSLC examination, 2019, the result of which was declared on Wednesday. Both are students of Golaghat Jatiya Vidyalaya.

Talking to this correspondent, Upasha Gogoi said that she had studied according to a normal routine. Besides studies, she likes to watch TV serials and reality shows. She also likes to read books by Homen Buragohain, Anuradha Sarma Puzari and Bhabendra Nath Saikia, besides listening to music. She further said that she wanted to take admission in Salt Brook Academy of Dibrugarh and become a good teacher in future. Upasha Mudoi is the daughter of Atul Mudoi and Parul Bora, residents of Jonaki Nagar near Uroli Vivah Bhavan of Golaghat town. Her father is pharmacist and mother is a teacher in a higher secondary school. Upasha Mudoi has obtained 589 out of 600 where she scored 97 in Assamese, 98 in English, 98 in General Science, 98 in Social Science and 100 in Advanced mathematics.

On the other hand, Achyut Kumar Chetia who secured 10th position in the examination said that hard work brought success. He used to read 5 to 6 hours daily and watch TV, read newspapers, novels and magazines in his leisure time. He lives in Da-gaon of Oating area in Golaghat district. He is the son of Kusheswar Chetia and Podumi Chetia. His father is serving as a stenographer in Golaghat Judicial Court. Chetia hopes to become a doctor in future and wants to take admission in Pragjyotika Academy. Achyut Kumar Chetia obtained 583 out of 600 marks. He scored 96 in Assamese, 92 in English, 100 in General Science, 95 in Social Science and 100 in Advanced Mathematics.

As per records, around 11,937 candidates appeared for the HSLC examination this year in 33 examination centres from Golaghat district. Out of this, 1,639 candidates passed the examination where in 2,373 candidates got first division, 2,983 candidates got second division and 6,995 candidates got third division. Overall percentage of Golaghat district is 58.60 per cent.
