Two women tortured on suspicion of practising witchcraft

Doomdooma, Sept 12: Doomdooma Police rescued two women, Shima Talenga (55) and her daughter-in-law Rita Talenga (22), belonging to harani village near Barhapjan under Doomdooma Police Station who were tortured by the villagers on suspicion of practising witchcraft on Sunday night. According to reports received here, the two women work as watch personnel in a nearby small tive garden and  in absence of the male members of their family, they were reportedly alone in the house at the time of the incident. They were in police custody on Monday. So far no one has been arrested. A similar incident took place about a month back in a nearby tea garden under Doomdooma PS. This incident has caused quite a flutter in the area.
