Two youths get lifer for rape and murder

TANGLA, July 5: In a significant judgment, the court of Saneki Bora, District and Session Judge, Udalguri sentenced  two youths to rigorous life imprisonment recently.  Residents of Majbat in Udalguri, the two youths were accused of raping an elderly woman before killing her mercilessly way back in 2013. The District and Sessions Judge convicted the youths Doman Madi (24) and So Basera (22) of Kadabil village near Mazbat for killing one Jaba Kisku (44) after raping her on October 13, 2013.

The youths were booked under section 376/302/34 IPC vide Mazbat PS Case No.47/2013. The court further directed the accused to pay a fine of Rs 1,000 each. According to information, a woman (24 years) was returning home from Udalguri along with her son and mother (44 years) on the evening of October 13 in 2013. On their way, they met Doman Madi and So Basera at Kadabil Kahijungle near Bhatiamari River.

Taking advantage, both the accused attempted to molest the mother-daughter duo at about 7 pm. The daughter somehow maged to flee with her son. But unfortutely the mother was raped and then killed brutally with a boulder.
