Tezpur, May 12: Sensation prevails in Tezpur following the alleged brutal killing of two youths by unidentified miscreants on Wednesday night at Parmaiguri (Lishubagan) area.
According to sources, two youths of Koliabar (wgaon) area, who were later identified as Kartik Das (30), a driver, and Sunit Tanti (20), as part of their regular affair of carrying tea leaves collected from different small tea gardens, were on their way to Dhekiajuli Tea Estate with a tea leaves-laden Bolero pick-up van on Wednesday evening. Though they normally return home after delivering tea leaves at Dhekiajuli Tea Estate’s factory, yesterday they did not returned home.
The local people of the Parmaiguri (Lishubagan) area saw the bodies of the two youths in the litchi garden located in the area on Thursday morning. One of the bodies was hanging while another was on the ground. They were hacked to death as several cut marks were seen on their bodies. Later at around 8.30 am, police was informed. On receiving information, police rushed to the spot and recovered the bodies. After the primary investigation police ascertained that it was an act of car lifters as after killing of the two youths the Bolero pick-up van bearing registration number AS-12-AC-2756 was taken away by the killers.
