Tyre shop, owner charred to ashes

DIMORIA, July 6: A person, bin Kumar Sahani (26), was charred to death when a fire broke out in his tyre shop – Mega Service Station – located near Ten Mile at Jorabat neat a petrol depot in the wee hours today. The tyre shop was located along the Assam-Meghalaya border. Sahani was sleeping inside the shop when the fire broke out. Fire tenders from Byrnihat and Khapara rushed to the spot when the shop and its owner were totally charred.  According to Khapara police, the fire could have developed from short-circuit. However, the local people say that the fire could be the handiwork of miscreants.
