U-13 football championship kicks off

Silchar, Aug 23: The 9th U-13 Sujit rzary Inter District Football Championship under Assam Football Association, Guwahati, kicked off from today at the Lakhipur tea estate playground. Rajdeep Goala, MLA of Lakhipur and chairman of Lakhipur DSA, iugurated the tourment this morning in the presence of other invited guests who included Upendra Moira, vice president, Lakhipur DSA, Debabrata Paul, secretary, Satyabati Kamei, GP president, and Man Dey, ward commissioner.

 The five day long tourment will conclude on August 27. In the morning encounter, Silchar DSA team defeated Dima Hasao DSA team by 2 goals. In the evening, Hailakandi DSA team defeated Karimganj DSA team by a brace of 2 goals. The tourment evoked keen interest and enthusiasm among the local people who turned out in large number to witness the closely contested matches. It is for the first time that the U-13 football tourment is being held in the sub division.
