UBC launch soccer academy at Dhekiajuli

GUWAHATI, Aug 22: United Brothers club, known for patronizing soccer in a big way, launched its own soccer academy at Dhekiajuli. The club aim to produce players of tiol and intertiol standard by the next four years.

Sharing information on the newly launched academy, Pronoy Bordoloi, the president of the club, said, "The academy med UBC Football Gurukul was launched last month at Panbari Tea Garden, Dhekiajuli.  "We have noticed a number of talents among the local players belonging to different tea gardens in the locality and this is why we have decided to start this academy at Panbari." He added, "Altogether 40 young players of the age group 8-13 years have been selected for the camp and placed under a local coach. In the days ahead we will take the help of reputed coaches of India and abroad to train these boys."

The media briefing was also attended by Dhiraj Dutta, the secretary of United Brothers club and a few other officials.
