Udalguri ADC inspects flood-affected areas in Kalaigaon

KALAIGAON, June 18: The higher authority of Udalguri district administration was compelled to visit the flood-affected area in Kalaigaon on Sunday because of the impact of the news which appeared in The Sentinel recently about River Noa overflowing due to heavy rainfall and flooding many areas.

After this,  Anupam Chaudhury, ADC of Udalguri district, visited flood-affected areas like Bhehguri and Rupatal on Sunday along with Chahzaman Rasul, Field Officer of Disaster Magement. They assured the people that the administration would take proper initiative to provide adequate relief materials to the victims. ADC Chaudhury decided to rebuild a bamboo bridge as a vital communication link had been cut-off as the bridge on the road from Mekenzi to Rupatal LP School had been washed away by the floods.

Meanwhile, Kaushik Deka, president of Kalaigaon Youth Congress, Humayun Kabir, secretary of Kalaigaon Youth Congress and Debashis Mandal, secretary of Kalaigaon AABYSF visited the flood-affected areas with their teams on Sunday and they requested the authority concerned to provide adequate relief materials to the victims.
