Udalguri district committee of Arya Samaj formed

UDALGURI, Jan 16: The Udalguri district committee of Arya Samaj was formed at a meeting held at Borongajuli DAV High School.

The meeting was presided over by Indra Siwakoti of Suklai and attended by Rishiram Pokhrel, the vice-president of Uttar Purvanchal Arya Pratinidhi Sabha, Hari Bhakta Sarma, the president, Kamal Upadhyaya, the general secretary of Udalguri Arya Samaj, and Rudra Shastri, the priest of Arya Samaj, among other distinguished guests. Hari Bhakta Sarma conducted the meeting.

The representatives of Rowta, Udalguri, Jorpukhuri, Borongajuli, Suklai and Rajagarh expressed their views on the formation of the district committee to enhance social reform in the region. The Udalguri district committee Arya Samaj was formed with Gayatri Bhattarai as president and Santiram Sarma as general secretary, besides 27 other executives.
