Udalguri district ready for counting of votes

TANGLA, May 18: The Udalguri district administration is all prepared for peaceful counting of votes scheduled on May 19 for three assembly constituencies mely-64 Paneri,69 Udalguri (ST) and 70 Mazbat.

Informing media persons, ND Pathak, District Election Officer, Udalguri, said that there would be 12 rounds of counting of votes on 14 tables for each of the three LACs. All security arrangements had been made to prevent any untoward incident and a security blanket of three tier security arrangement had been for the counting day. No vehicles would be allowed beyond 100 metres of the periphery around the counting centre.

In the meantime Sadha Hojai, District Magistrate, Udalguri, by an order imposed Section 144 IPC in the district.
