Udalguri Sahitya Sabha observes Nizor din

UDALGURI, April 16:  The Udalguri Sahitya Sabha observed Assamese New Year day as Nizor din. The flag was hoisted by Gautam Jyoti Talukdar, the president of Udalguri Sahitya Sabha which was followed by smriti tarpan. The literary body paid their tributes to Padmanath Gohain Baruah, the former president of Axom Xahitya Xabha. The interaction session was presided over by Gautam Jyoti Talukdar and the session was anchored by Dwijen Bayan, the general secretary of Udalguri Sahitya Sabha. The quarterly multilingual poetry journal Sugandhi Kavita was released on that occasion. A booklet on Assamese verses ‘Atmar Binani’ of Anima Bayan was released by Dr. Dilip Dutta, the Vice Principal of Udalguri College. He stressed on the importance of creativity in society and also the need of readership. Sanskrit scholar Bidyapati Dahal among others recited poems.
