Udalguri to host annual conference of Asom Kavi Samaj

UDALGURI, November 17:  The 27th annual conference of Asom Kavi Samaj will be held at Udalguri with a two-day long programme on November 26 and November 27.

 To hold the conference smoothly a reception committee has been formed with Sadha Hojai, Udalguri Deputy Commissioner, as president, Dhiren Baishya as working president and Gautam Jyoti Talukdar as general secretary. A souvenir to mark this celebration will be brought out. The poems will be published in Assamese, English, Bodo and Nepali. Anjan Jyoti Sarma is the editor of this magazine.

 On November 26 the flag of Asom Kavi Samaj will be hoisted by Ramen Kalita, the president of Asom Kavi Samaj followed by lighting of lamp by Usha Buragohain, the vice-president of Asom Kavi Samaj. The smriti tarpan will be done by Dhiren Baishya, the executive president of the reception committee. The delegate camp will iugurated by Ripen Daimari, the MCLA of Bhairabkunda constituency and the multilingual poets’ meet will iugurated by Punuram Kalita, the president of Udalguri Zila Sahitya Sabha. The open session will be presided over by Rajendrath Bordoloi, the newly-elected president of Asom Kavi Samaj and State Minister Rihon Daimari, Barpeta Deputy Commissioner Thaneswar Malakar and BTC Speaker Tridip Daimari will attend the open session. Swadhita Mahanta will attend as appointed speaker.
