Udalguri to host Bhairabkunda Tourism Festival

UDALGURI, Jan 5: Brisk preparation is going on in Udalguri to hold the 4th Bhairabkunda Tourism Festival, 2016. The festival is scheduled to be held from January 20 to January 23.

An organizing committee to this end has been formed with Rihan Daimari, the Udalguri legislator, as chairman and Robison Daimari as chief convener, and other sub-committees too have been formed hold the festival smoothly. Briefing media persons, Rihan Daimari said that a semir on ‘forest and soil conservation’ and ‘organic cultivation’, painting and quiz competition among school children, cultural programmes and sports events will be organized to attract tourists and create awareness among the people.

A multilingual souvenir titled Bhairabkunda will also be published to mark the celebration. The souvenir will consist of articles on tourism and the historical and present perspectives of Bhairabkunda in Assamese, Bodo, English, Nepali and Hindi languages.  Bireswar Daimari is the chief editor of this souvenir while Pratul Kumar Bhabora is the chairman of the souvenir sub-committee. An informative brochure on Bhairabkunda will also be published to guide the tourists to this place.
