Udalguri Xahitya Xabha celebrates AXX centery

UDALGURI, Dec 29: Udalguri Sahitya Sabha observed the centery year celebration of Axam Xahitya Xabha (AXX) with a two-day long programme.

The programme began with tribute to the martyrs which was initiated by Bhadrakanta Sarmah, the executive member of AXX. The programme was followed by a meeting presided over by Gautam Jyoti Talukdar where Dwijen Bayan, the general secretary of Udalguri Sahitya Sabha, initiated the commemoration programme.

Dinesh Chandra Das, Gajendra th Gayan and others delivered their speeches commemorating the past of AXX. Mrinmoy Kumar Dowka, the Udalguri Jail Superintendent, stressed the need for language and literary development through the AXX. In this meeting, the Udalguri Sahitya Sabha passed a resolution asking AXX to expel general secretary Paramanda Rajbonshi for life and to save the organization from controversy.
