Udhampur terror attack: Judicial remand of accused extended

Jammu, Dec 22: A tiol Investigation Agency (NIA) court here on Tuesday extended by 14 days the judicial remand of a Pakistani Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) terrorist and five other accused in the August 5 Udhampur terror attack. “The NIA desigte court extended the remand of Pakistani LeT terrorist Muhammad veed and his five accomplices by 14 days,” a senior police officer told IANS here. LeT terrorists, veed and Noman, both Pakistanis, attacked a Border Security Force bus in Udhampur district in Jammu and Kashmir state on August 5, killing two troopers and injuring 11 others.

No man was killed on the spot while veed had escaped to a nearby village in Udhampur district where villagers overpowered him and handed him over to police. On sustained custodial interrogation of veed, NIA arrested five Kashmiris who had facilitated the attack by carrying the two terrorists and their weapons from Kulgam district in Kashmir to Udhampur in Jammu in a fruit truck.
