UDP demands improvement of road connectivity

SHILLONG, April 15: The United Democratic Party (UDP), Mawkyrwat Circle on Friday expressed concern over the poor condition of roads in the region and demanded the state government to improve road connectivity in the district headquarters and in the entire area. “We are pleased with the government for widening and improvement of the Jakrem-district headquarter road. However, we are concerned at the poor connectivity in the region and we want the government to improve it in the district,” Commander Shangpliang, chairman of UDP’s Mawkyrwat Circle said in a memorandum sent to the Minister of Public Works Department (PWD). The UDP Mawkyrwat Circle also urged the government to upgrade Mawngap-Ranikor Road via Mawkyrwat.
