He also requested the PWD Roads through the Junior Engineer, Mawkyrwat Division, C. Shangdiar who was present during the visit to instruct the contractor to finish the work before January 2017.

Meanwhile, the people from Pynden Lyngdoh, Mad and Mawbidong who were present during the visit said that the delay on the part of the contractor to complete the work has brought many problems to the people especially for pregnt women and patients. “We have to carry them (pregnt women or patient) and walk all the way from our villages till Tyni which is about seven kms,” they said.

Junior Engineer, PWD Roads Mawkyrwat Division, C. Shangdiar informed that the 7 ½ KM road was sanctioned in 2013 for Rs.6.59 crores under the Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yoja (PMGSY). He said that the contractor should have completed the works within 18 months but till now she has not been able to finish the work even though the Department from time to time has reminded her.
