UDP slams Congress

A REPORTER

SHILLONG, Aug 27: The United Democratic Party (UDP) of Mylliem on Thursday strongly condemned the Congress party including the MDC from Mylliem Constituency Teili S. Thangkhiew for her part in including Lawsohtun, Umlyngka and Nongkseh (Census Town) under the jurisdiction of MUDA Building Bye-Laws.

This statement from the UDP Mylliem Constituency came in view of the resent notification published by the state government regarding the MUDA the Building Bye-Laws on 25 August 2015.

“This new notification will empower MUDA to implement the Building Bye-Laws as per the ‘Meghalaya Building Byelaws 2011’ even towards schedule areas and because of this we are strongly against it,” Hamlet Dohling president, UDP Mylliem Constituency said. He further informed that the UDP has written a letter to the Urban Affair Minister Ampareen Lyngdoh demanding that she should immediately withdraw the notification since most of the people from Mylliem are against this decision. Dohling also appealed towards the elected representative of Mylliem Constituency Teili S. Thangkhiew to put the people of the constituency in front instead of listening or doing what their respective party leader asks of them for the benefit of their own constituency.
