UDP's Mawsynram unit holds meeting on poll preparation

SHILLONG, June 29: The district committee of the UDP today convened a meeting of unit and zol leaders of Mawsynram circle at Khliehshnong Community Hall at Mawsynram. The meeting under the chairmanship of District President Bah Titos Chyne, deliberated on the present position of the Party and resolved to constitute an adhoc body. The meeting elected Bah Titos Chyne as president and Bah D Nongseij as secretary to the nine zol units of the constituency. The meeting was presided over by Dr Donkupar Roy, State President of UDP. The meeting was also attended by Bah Allantry Franklin Dkhar, State Vice President, Kong Pretty Kharpyngrope, State Women’s Wing President and Bah Teinwel Dkhar, District Secretary among other district and Circle leaders. Leaders present at the meeting have expressed their desire to kick-start the preparations for the polls to be held in 2018. The state president in his address expressed his happiness over the turn out. He exhorted the party rank and file to be positive in their approach as the coming state elections.  He lamented at the present scerio of the state where the government has been engrossed in politicking rather than governce.
