Doomdooma, April 22: Under the auspices of Allied Gas Services, Doomdooma Ujjwala Divas was observed at Dholla, about 22 km away from here, with senior journalist Arjun Baruah in the chair. In the beginning, Suit Kumar Baruah, proprietor of Allied Gas Services welcomed the guests and explained the significance of the day. He divulged that although 31,000 connections were fixed as target for Tinsukia district, 32,000 such connections had been distributed. In the meeting held at Marwari Vibah Bhavan where about 700 women beneficiaries attended,  22 beneficiaries were allotted LPG connections. The meeting was addressed by Pranati Baruah, former Principal, Saikhowa HS School and journalist Santana Goswami.

DHUBRI: Ujjwala Divas was observed with the distribution of 100 LPG connections, distributed formally among the poor women of Bahalpur Goan Panchayat at Ratnapith College of Dhubri district on Friday. The function was organized under auspices of Mahamaya Gas Agency of Chapor. Within a week, it was the second Goan Panchayat  after Salkocha village under Bilasipara Subdivision of Dhubri district where LPG connections were distributed free of cost. Speaking at the function organized to observe the Ujjawala Divas with distribution of LPG connections, Deputy General Manager of BRPL, Shyamankur Das said that it was an ambitious programme of Prime Minister Narendra Modi which benefited poor women of the villages immensely.
