UK-based Assamese physician passes away

JORHAT, Feb 2: Dr. Mukul Chandra Borbora, an Assamese physician based in Rainham, Kent England and a member of Royal College of Obstetrics and Gyecology, UK, passed away  in England on January 29. He was 72. Borbora leaves behind his two sons, mely Aaron, a radiologist and Jason, an investment adviser in UK.

Borbora was the son of noted tea scientist kul Chandra Borbora of Nehru Park, Jorhat. After completing his schooling from Jorhat Government Boys’ School, Borbora took admission in Assam Medical College, Dibrugarh and got his MBBS degree from the college. Thereafter, he went to England in 1972 and lived there till his death.

His younger brother Mridul Chandra Borbora said, “The funeral ceremony will be held at his Rainham residence after completion of all government process of UK. It will probably take another two or three days.”

The death of the UK-based Assamese physician has been widely mourned.
