ULFA (I) linkman nabbed

SIVASAGAR, July 21: The Namtola Police and Sonari Army Camp under DAO Division, in a joint operation, apprehended one ULFA (I) linkman from Namtola area on Friday. Based on specific intelligence input, the security forces carried out an operation and swooped on Romen Borgohain (34), son of Tarun Borgohain, a resident of Hathi Camp under Namtola police station in Charaideo district on Friday. He was apprehended with nine live rounds of ammunition of 7.65 mm calibre and 11 gram brown sugar. During interrogation, the apprehended ULFA (I) linkman revealed that he was involved in supply of drugs to various insurgent cadres along with collecting extortion money, sources said.
