Haflong, April 4: In a joint operation of Dima Hasao Police, CRPF and Assam Rifles, Indrajit Mazumder, popularly known as Tarzan and claimed to be a member of DHD (Action) group, was arrested along with one revolver, six live cartridges and mobile set at Haflong market on Tuesday. Mazumder, who has been arrested eight times in extortion cases, during interrogation revealed that he had extorted money from one businessman of Umrangso and one businessman of Haflong too. Pusparaj Sing, Additiol Superintendent of Police, Dima Hasao, while talking to the media, confirmed that one Indrajit Mazumder had been arrested with one revolver and live cartridges and that he had been extorting businessmen at Umrangso and Haflong. A case no 28/18 u/s 120(b) has been registered.
