GAON, April 5: Around 154 contractual field officers in the State who were appointed by the State Government and are still working under Assam State Disaster Magement Authority (ASDMA) in various revenue circles are facing a threat as their period of service expired in December, 2017 and is yet to be extended. Some officers said that Rongali Bihu was round the corner and the risk period for tural disasters like flood and erosion had just started. But their period of service had not been extended by the government till date and no initiative by the government to extend their services or renew their contract could be seen.
